<p>This app is really special for me as this is probably the most complete thing I have built as it is not only a web app but also a Cross-Platform working Progressive Web App.</p>
<p>I have also added a Landing Page, produced some mockups for it &amp; whatnot. 🧡</p>

<h3>Super Clean UI 🌄</h3>
<p>🚩 We all love reading HackerNews due to its invaluable content but its UI always was a pain point for many. For example, it has a really small font which becomes really hard to read on a small screen.<br>The result being we mostly read it on our Laptops/PC while slacking off our work.😅</p>
<p>And all this is pretty understandable as Paul Graham🙌 made it more than a decade ago!</p>
<p>✅ But not anymore I have tried to fix that in HackrNews’s, with a Clean, Responsive, and a Feed Focused UI. So that you can just open it and start absorbing it!</p>
<p>PS: I’m not a designer but I have a good eye for one, probably as I used to love drawing a lot as a kid. Thus what you see is just my imagination of what would look good. So looking forward to your feedback on the look.😃</p>
<h3>Dark/Night Mode 🌓</h3>
<p>🚩 I mean common being techies we need Night Mode at such a holy place like Hacker News right! 🙇‍♂️</p>
<p>✅ So there you go, HackrNews has Dark/Night mode toggle on all the devices. Thus you don’t have to strain your eyes anymore while enjoying your reading sessions! 🤗</p>

<p>Then you can go to your profile to check those saved Posts.</p>

<p>In fact, I found the process so clean and fast that I created and published a video on how to add Authentication to a NextJS app using Auth0. 🤯</p>

<p>Wait.. I also found a very interesting thing that with Auth0- <strong>You can easily store the Signing Users in a Custom Database too !</strong></p>
<h4><strong>You can enable it by the following steps 👇:</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Log-in into your Auth0 dashboard.</li>
<li>Go to Authentication in the sidebar &amp; select Database from its submenu.</li>
<li>Then Click the Custom Database tab and enable it!</li>
<li>Now you can just select the type of Database you have and Auth0 has all the necessary functions already set up. You just have to add the Credentials of your DB!</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>I have used that to store the signing-up users into HackrNews into a MongoDB instance for any future features/use. 📌</strong></p>
<h3>Why did I build HackrNews? 🛠</h3>
<p>Now that you enough about the app now let me share what inspired me to build HackrNews.</p>
<blockquote>Personally, I love reading HN but I thought that if HN is such a great site with great content, it should be revamped.</blockquote>
<blockquote>As the ones who just discover it would just simply ignore it just by judging how it looks.</blockquote>
<p>And then I also found this conversation that made me know that some people really find it difficult to read 😞 : <a href="https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7614167">https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7614167</a></p>
<h4>So, I thought why not then try to combine the power of HackerNews’s content with today’s best Web Technologies !</h4>
<p>Around this time I also wanted to learn NextJS and what better way to learn something than building something with it!</p>
<p>So everything just seemed to fit together nicely leading me to use <a href="https://nextjs.org/">NextJS </a>to build HackrNews. As it’s the fastest and super optimized Framework in the market.</p>
<blockquote>Thus HackrNews is Server-Side-Rendered and enjoys benefits like Fast Loading, SEO, and whatnot.</blockquote>
<p><strong>And officially making HackrNews my first NEXT Project of many to come!</strong></p>
<h3>Future Plans 🏹🌈</h3>
<p>Let me share some future plans or features I have in mind for HackrNews 👇:</p>
<ul>
<li>A Feature above the feed to Sort/Filter the Feed according to Popularity, Time, and stuff.</li>
<li>Make it more personalized for the Auth0 authenticated User with a Special Feed according to the User’s interest.</li>
<li>Make a HackrNews Twitter Bot that automatically puts out interesting Tech Tweets!</li>
<li>A Newsletter for the Developer Community!</li>
<li>Will be saving up some money to buy a domain for it. 😄</li>
</ul>

<h3>Why DSA vs Development is BS ? (PS: It’s Computer Science 🚀)</h3>

Should I do development just to get it on the CV or Should I do both or how to do both? 🙄</p>
<p><strong>And the point is all these things ideally should never be there!</strong></p>
<p>Waait…. If you are a video person- I’ve got you covered! :</p>

<p><strong>And I believe in blaming oneself before anyone else. So let’s see what’s wrong with us first.</strong></p>
<p>So first of all what I see is this generation of ours is always absorbing so much content from the internet.</p>
<p>For example, in one video you see some getting really good results just by doing development while in another by CP or DSA. While on the other hand you are constantly being hit by ads of some companies or people selling courses saying- “<strong>We will make you a Full Stack Engineer in 2 months !</strong>”, “<strong>Take this DSA course and be placed in FAANG!</strong>”</p>
<p>I mean I can guarantee — your emails are filled with such ads luring you towards these paid courses.</p>

<p>Now being a human you naturally start comparing yourself and end up in this ridiculous situation.</p>
<p>If I will be really honest these companies just want to make profits off the goals or in some cases the insecurity of students to get placed at a good place, which is also understandable from their perspective. I mean it’s a really good business strategy.</p>
<p>And let’s be real almost everyone is just after making some money &amp; there is nothing bad in that.</p>
<p><em>But trust me the ones who teach you in these paid courses have learned everything for free &amp; </em><strong><em>You should too!</em></strong></p>
<p>And if you go a bit deeper- this concept is just born out of pure placement-mindedness instead of learning this beautiful subject that could literally change things.</p>
<h3>The Solution</h3>
<blockquote>I believe that there can be a lot of chaos outside but we have the control over ourselves to just mute what’s outside and carve our own path.</blockquote>
<p><strong>Some actionable steps you can take to stay away from all this:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Just stop consuming and try a lot of things, fail a lot, and learn yourselves.</li>
<li>Go through the accounts you follow and ask yourself — “<strong>Does this provide you some value or align with your goals?</strong>” If not unfollow the account. You will see the results of it in long term.</li>
<li>Stop comparing yourself to something whether on the internet or in real life because it’s really toxic. <strong>Instead, be super happy and push others to succeed!</strong>
</li>
</ul>
<p><em>Before probably 8–9 months or so I was too in this, thinking what should I do.</em> But after trying a lot of things and trust me I have tried a lot of stuff as one should in early college years.</p>
<p>Then I just realized that why don’t just see everything as just Computer Science as it should be, and not make such unnecessary divisions.</p>
<blockquote><strong>Now once you see everything as Computer Science it’s natural that you also learn these beautiful algorithms, solve problems with them and eventually build things!</strong></blockquote>
<p><strong><em>That’s how Computer Science works. Everything else is BS.</em></strong></p>
<h4>Don’t Be Biased.</h4>
<figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/498/1*ph5iBtkaGFds1XtINzFX5g.gif"></figure><p>Now if you are biased towards DSA, you will say — “I don’t care about building as this is what is needed in interviews of giants.”<br><br>And if it’s the other way you’ll say — “Well, eventually you have to make things so who cares about DSA.”</p>
<p>And it may make a lot of sense to you as you are biased. But I’ll say from my experience you’ll need a good mixture of both to be a good Engineer.</p>
<p>Trust me I have done both and will be doing both because speaking from experience- One needs DSA to be a really good Engineer. <strong>It’s the ABC to writing good code. You learn the art of breaking things down!</strong></p>
<p>And on the other hand, I genuinely love building things that people use and definitely not for just getting them on the resume.</p>
<h4>A Story</h4>
<figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/480/1*Ek0qOkktSwcPEpzgt7DGQQ.gif"></figure><p>Let me tell you a story recently I was working at a small company. <em>Wait so a point here is that I got this job is in my 2nd year of college!</em></p>
<p><strong>So, knowing how to build things opens up a lot of opportunities for you early.</strong></p>
<p>I implemented many features which did seem really hard to implement at first but by just breaking them down into smaller problems I did it. And that right there is the essence of solving these seemingly boring algorithmic problems. You learn how to break the problem into smaller problems and work your way through solving them.</p>
<blockquote>As a seemingly great feature is nothing but a seemingly large problem that can be solved by breaking into smaller problems.</blockquote>
<p>So, while working there or on the so-called development side of things, I understood what solving problems using DSA does to you.</p>
<h4>Why do companies test DSA?</h4>
<p>Let me clear this as many have this question. It’s because most of their codebase has legacy code or old code with some specific tech stack they use. They require people who have clear basics of programming i.e DSA.</p>
<blockquote>Because if you are good at these core stuff like OOPS, Data Structures, Algorithms, etc, you can pick up any language or framework really really fast!</blockquote>
<p>And later they train these selected candidates according to the team or product the person would be working on.</p>
<p>For example — Google doesn’t care if you know React, they use Angular right!</p>
<h3>The Conclusion</h3>
<p>So from what I have realized is that — <strong>Building things will give you opportunities at an early stage and knowing DSA will help you do great at those opportunities.</strong></p>
<p>So, DSA and Development complement each other thus a good engineer must be good at both at some point.</p>
<blockquote>Because at the end one has to use these skills to solve some real-life problem, else there is no point of it all!</blockquote>
<p>So, I’ll suggest you first that don’t be anxious about placements and stuff, just work on your skills, do things you love doing &amp; eventually things will fall in place, and even if they don’t you will never have regrets. <em>God, I have to stop being philosophical!</em> 😄</p>
<p><strong>From now on don’t get into this BS trap, just know that it’s all Computer Science and things will be way easier.</strong></p>

Why DSA vs Development is BS ? (PS: It’s Computer Science )

The boundless imaginations, no sense of limitations. Nothing to stop you from becoming whatever you wanted to be or to do the next second. When you decided to do something, you did it without any fear of falling down or ego of succeeding.</p>
<p>But as you grew up something happened and that child just got lost somewhere very hard to find. Somehow you have all these boundaries and limitations now. Somehow you started thinking of what will people think of you. You started fearing or take the action needed to succeed.</p>
<p><strong>A naive person does not even know that this is a tragedy that he has got himself into.</strong></p>
<h3>What actually happened though ?</h3>
<p>Imagine you were born in North Korea and lived there your whole life, which is probably the most possible outcome. Now you must be wondering well that would be really bad. No not at all! Instead, this is what you will know about life — You live in the most advanced country in the world &amp; are living the best life possible on the planet. Even if you don’t have Internet is or even electricity.</p>
<p>But we don’t live inside North Korea. So we compare and know that it is a very bad country to be in. But this is what they have been told their whole life. And being cut off from the world, from their perspective-they are leading a good life.</p>
<p><strong>As does a naive person who is not aware that he is surrounded by these walls of limitations.</strong></p>
<p>The worst part is that this wall didn’t exist in our life earlier. In contrast to North Korea where it already existed. So, in a sense we let this invisible wall gets built around us by none other than the society we will live in.</p>
<p>This wall blinds you of what’s out there or what you can be. You can only see what is between you and the wall. Which is exactly the reflection of the society &amp; surrounding you currently live in.</p>
<p>Sometimes you peak above the walls but are very afraid of what others within the wall will think of you. You don’t take risks. You live a conventional life as it is safe &amp; protective.</p>
<p>Well, then how do we get out of this wall &amp; start to live as a human should.</p>
<h3>Breaking Out of The Wall</h3>
<p>The first step to breaking out of this wall is to see what’s outside it. Else you will be like North Koreans living a life of illusion whole life. You reading this article is a good example of knowing what’s outside. You watch Youtube videos, getting inspired from people who don’t live in these walls or have broken out is a good example of knowing what’s outside.</p>
<p>After some time of knowing &amp; watching what’s outside, your mindsets start changing. Your society now is not just the people you live with, but the people you consume virtually.</p>
<blockquote><em>In today’s world be very conscious of what you choose to consume. As most probably you will become that.</em></blockquote>
<p>Slowly you have courage enough to start hitting at the walls while ignoring the society around you. You start to take that small little step. The first force that will break the walls around you soon.</p>
<p>As you see people outside the walls, one thinks — I have to do start doing exactly that. That is often hard considering your current situation. Thus leading to procrastination, continuous self-doubt &amp; anxiety.</p>
<p>But you have to just start really simple. For me that was me publishing that first video of mine on Youtube. Which seems really trivial right but once it was not. As do 100s of things after that now but a journey of miles starts with just one step. Turns out that is the hardest.</p>
<p>As you start doing things that are not conventional, are risky, that fill you with immense happiness every day. You keep pushing this wall more &amp; more outside. Increasing its radius or the area it occupies now. Thus increasing the radius of your life. Still, the fear keeps lurking around. But it just keeps decreasing with every action you take toward your goals. You keep moving forward despite everything. Living &amp; experiencing more lives every day.</p>
<p>Until one day you just realize that life is really beautiful. You are really grateful to be in here. There are no negativities, but a lot of people just within those long walls. Without the knowledge enough to push it, expand it &amp; break out of it.</p>
<p><strong>This is the moment you break out of the wall &amp; now the world is truly your oyster.</strong></p>
<h3>Break Out &amp; Live Life As It Was Meant To !</h3>
<p>If you observe closely everyone has a different radius of the Walls they live in. Which is mostly a reflection of the society’s knowledge they live in. So most people in under-developed countries have a smaller radius than the people in developed countries. Obviously, as the latter people are exposed to more knowledge.</p>
<p>The point here to notice is that you if you want to defy all odds and break out. You have to educate (which does not mean you have to get a degree) yourself, make the right choices &amp; gather knowledge. <strong>This is what will set you free in the true sense.</strong></p>
<p>A really great example is <strong>Elon Musk</strong>, as we know he read a lot. When he was in Africa, while their family went around the world, always read a lot. So, though his surrounding was not informed enough, he knew that he had to go to the Silicon Valley to do things. Thus at a very young age, he broke out of his walls! And has now become an inspiration to many, including me.</p>
<p><strong><em>Don’t ever complain that, nobody told you anything. Be a human, learn &amp; explore!</em></strong></p>
<p><strong>Here are some actionable steps that could help you break out of the wall :</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Stop doing mundane things that everybody around you is doing. Like watching TV all day, scrolling down social media &amp; more.</li>
<li>Take out some time. Go through whatever you consume. Asking yourself one question — <strong>“Does this person provides me some value that contributes to my future goals ?”.</strong> If “Yes” fine else unfollow them.</li>
</ul>
<blockquote><em>The goal here is to align what you consume with your goals. As you think, what you consume. Thoughts become action &amp; eventually life.</em></blockquote>
<ul><li>
<strong>Read. Read. Read.</strong> Make it a habit to read, it will transform your life. I know it sounds cliché but it does. Well, the reason is when you read, you go through the minds of great people. Learn from their mistakes before you make them yourself</li></ul>
<blockquote>You live many lives in one lifetime when you read a lot.</blockquote>
<ul>
<li>Write down your goals on paper, not on some screen but good old pen &amp; paper. Now I don’t know how, but if you do it consciously, I can guarantee- <strong>You will achieve most of it.</strong>
</li>
<li>Don’t just have goals, make a system around it &amp; follow it like anything.</li>
</ul>
<blockquote>“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.”</blockquote>
<ul><li>The last thing is always to be mindful &amp; conscious enough to reflect that — <strong>“ Okay I know this is scary, I’ve never done this before, but I will push myself &amp; do it now without caring about the result. “</strong>
</li></ul>
<p>Now once you start doing these things, you will lose every fear you ever had because now you know what’s on the other side of it.</p>
<p>You can literally decide now to push against that wall. Break it open. And live as a human should, with all its glory &amp; doing things that inspire &amp; impact life!</p>

<h3>What is Github Copilot?</h3>
<p>As said by Github CEO Nat Friedman :</p>
<blockquote>“<a href="http://copilot.github.com/">GitHub Copilot </a>, a new AI pair programmer that helps you write better code.”</blockquote>
<p>It gets the context from the code you’re working on and gives you suggestions starting from a line to entire functions. It suggests different ways to solve a problem without you needing to get out of the editor searching for resources and code to solve that problem.</p>
<p>And not only that, but according to Github it also adapts itself according to the way you write code thus eventually helping you to complete your work faster.</p>

<h3>Who made it? 🤔</h3>
<p>Well, this is the by-product of the 1 Billion Dollar investment that Microsoft had made into OpenAI as obviously, they realized that OpenAI has resources enough to build State of the Art AI systems which it did with GPT-3.</p>
<p>So as Microsoft owns Github thus Copilot is made in collaboration with OpenAI’s <strong>Codex</strong>.</p>
<h4><strong>Well, what is Codex? 🤷‍♂️</strong></h4>
<p>It is a new AI system created by OpenAI. Codex has a broad knowledge of how people use code and is significantly more capable than GPT-3 in code generation.</p>
<p>Why they say that it is more capable than GPT-3 is because you must have seen those videos when GPT-3 created small elements website by some prompts asking it to do that. But it failed to do core programming stuff that actual programmers do.</p>
<p>But with Codex that changes because it was trained on a data set that includes a much larger concentration of public source code</p>
<h3>How does it work? 👩‍💻</h3>
<blockquote>As described by [OpenAI](<a href="https://openai.com/)'s">https://openai.com/)'s</a> CEO Greg Brockman — It is a descendant of GPT-3 but narrowly focused on code generation.</blockquote>
<p>The Codex has been trained of tons of data pulled from obviously Github and probably public code sites like StackOverflow. BTW, which was just <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/software-developer-community-stack-overflow-sold-to-tech-giant-prosus-for-1-8-billion-11622648400#:~:text=Stack%20Overflow%20Sold%20to%20Tech%20Giant%20Prosus%20for%20%241.8%20Billion%20-%20WSJ">sold </a>recently at $1.8 Billion to Prosus. That’s a sus, just before the release of Copilot : ) Just kidding 😄.</p>
<p><strong>But technically speaking this is how it works, as you write a comment or function name telling to do something :</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>It sends the prompt to the Github Copilot Services.</li>
<li>Which in turn uses the Codex algorithm to <strong>Synthesize</strong> &amp; suggest you back.</li>
</ul>

<h3>Should you be worried about it as a Programmer? 📌</h3>
<p>If you are a person who has used GPT-3 or Copilot you obviously know that it’s not in any way going to replace humans but will definitely be a <strong>great partner</strong>.</p>
<p>As it still makes really silly mistakes and sometimes you will now understand what it is trying to suggest which is a caveat that comes with every tech and especially with AI in its currently early days.</p>
<p>You will see people talking about things like — These billion-dollar companies are trying to replace programmers using AI but I don’t think that is the goal.</p>
<p>If you have been using and following Github on Twitter n stuff you will see how much work they are putting in to make the life of programmers more smooth and automated. The whole past year they have been releasing some really great features that is being loved by everyone.</p>
<p>And like that Copilot is just a very big leap with the same goal —<strong> “To make programmers as efficient as possible.”</strong></p>
<p>Well, now they would have thought at first — How do we do this? Now the most common pattern of how a programmer works is :</p>
<ul>
<li>You have to implement something.</li>
<li>Obviously, as you are a programmer you know the rules and with some thinking the way to do it too.</li>
<li>But as a human, you don’t remember all the resources or the exact code to implement that feature.</li>
<li>So what we do is go to the almighty Google and search whatever it is, read a bunch of Stackoverflow answers, come back to the editor try stuff and this cycle repeats until we get what we want.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Well, then the most obvious thing that can be done to improve a programmer’s efficiency is to bring the code to him instead of him going out and searching the code.</h4>
<p>And I believe that’s what Copilot is solving and also according to Github <strong>it’s a Pair Programmer, not a Programmer</strong>.</p>
<blockquote><strong>At the end of the day, we both need it each to improve whatever we lack at, it will help us with its fastness and accuracy &amp; we as humans will correct it with our creativity. 🧡</strong></blockquote>

So recently I got really interested in understanding the clear difference between a Relational/SQL and a Non-relational/NoSQL database so that I could explain it to anyone confidently. 🙋‍♂️</p>
<p>So, I read a bunch of blogs, worked on it and now I’m going to explain it in very simple words so that you can easily understand the difference between both and moreover I also show the pros and cons and which database should you use or learn. 📌</p>

<p>This type of database model organizes data into one or more tables which obviously consists of columns and rows. And each row is associated with a unique key. Here Rows are also called records or tuples and Columns are also called attributes.</p>
<p>Relational databases are also called SQL databases where “SQL” stands for Structured Query Language and it’s the language relational databases are written in. SQL is used to execute queries, retrieve data, and edit data by updating, deleting, or creating new records.</p>
<p>Example Languages: PostgreSQL, sqlite3, SQL , MySQL,</p>

<ul>
<li>So there is a set of properties called ACID which stands for — Atomity, Consistency, Isolation, Durability and this ensures reliable database transactions. And these RDBMS are really good at this.</li>
<li>It can handle lots of complex queries, database transactions, and routine analysis of data as the data in tables are very well connected/related with the help of unique keys.</li>
</ul>
<h4>Disadvantages:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Fixed Schema: RDBMS(Relational Database Management System) was designed to store mainly static data thus being stored in tables so, that does not make the manipulation of schema or model very flexible as it is in a Non-relational DB. One can’t store complex or very large images, numbers, designs, and multimedia products.</li>
<li>Scalability Issues: These are hard to scale as they need more servers to scale up and thus a lot of money. Imagine you have massive user growth, then a RDBMS is more difficult to scale as compared to a Non-relational database.</li>
</ul>
<p>Now the Non-relational databases especially solve these two problems which makes them very adaptable so let me tell you about those.</p>
<h3>Non-Relational Database 🧍‍♂️ :</h3>
<p>A non-relational database is any database that does not use the tabular schema of rows and columns like in relational databases. Instead, guess what- its storage model is optimized for the type of data it is storing. It is that flexible!</p>
<p>Non-relational databases are also known as NoSQL databases which stands for “Not Only SQL.” That brings me to a great point that you don’t need to use just SQL to query the database instead you can use any language of your choice. Like Hashnode is going to do the moment I publish this article, probably using Javascript. Correct me if I’m wrong! 😄</p>
<h4>Some types of NoSQL DBs :</h4>
<ul>
<li>Document Store :</li>
<li>Here documents are stored in the database with a unique key associated with each document. And you can query and manipulate the database just by sending an API request using any language and not just SQL as we discussed earlier.</li>
<li>One of the best examples is <a href="https://www.mongodb.com/cloud/atlas">MongoDB</a> which I also use and is the first database I learned to use. The best part about it that I love is that it stores the documents in<br>JSON-like format so it becomes really familiar in a short time.</li>
<li>MongoDB allows for auto-sharding which is a type of database partitioning that separates very large databases into smaller, faster, more easily managed parts called data shards. This is what helps it scale up fast and in a cost-friendly way without needing to add more servers.</li>
<li>Key-Value Store :</li>
</ul>
<p>This stores data as a collection of key–value pairs, such that each key appears at most once in the collections. So this is kind of based on data structures like maps or dictionaries.</p>
<p>One of it great example is Redis — short for Remote Dictionary Server which is being extensively used now and I guess it is also Opensource.</p>
<h4>Graph Database :</h4>
<p>This database is mainly based on Graph data structure. This stores data in a graph-like model such that the data with similar characteristics or attributes can be interconnected or caught quickly which can be used to find insights various.</p>
<p>Facebook used MySQL which a Relational Database earlier but then it made a Graph database of it’s own which helped them make these great connections between users.</p>

<p>Okay, so from what I have learned since these past days I will suggest that if you are a beginner trying to make projects on the web or a Startup and you can’t afford to throw a lot of money on servers then a Non-Relational Database is best for you. And also it helps because in this scenario you are very flexible with the data you store so NoSQL helps.</p>
<p>If you are a beginner I would suggest going with MongoDB as it also offers a free tier for personal projects.</p>
<p>And if you need to store and retrieve data or perform heave read and write operations, a Relational or SQL database is best for you. And this is the reason why Data Scientists use SQL databases, as their data is static and does not need to vary as they just need the pre-built data to train Machine Learning models.</p>
<p>I am no expert I’m still learning each day so ya just research a lot and use whatever your work demands.</p>

<p>I use <a href="https://code.visualstudio.com/download">VSCode </a>as my editor like most people because I find it really versatile and dynamic and not just because of all the extensions it has but also the fact that in just one window I can open multiple code files and work on them seamlessly and moreover I can also multiply the number of Terminals which becomes really handy for me.</p>
<p>As on one terminal, I can run my server and on the other, I can run my React App. And I can also use Git on another if I want to push things. Now that brings me to the next tool.</p>
<h3>2. Git</h3>
<p>So, this is really important, and no matter wherever you work or in which field, one should learn git and understand how it tracks our files. I use it to track my project files and push my files to Github.</p>

<h3>3. GitHub</h3>
<p>So, most beginners confuse Git and <a href="https://github.com/">Github </a>as the same or one company but that’s not true. Git is an Opensource Version Control System that can be used by any company while Github is owned by Microsoft and is a Cloud hosting platform for your Git Repositories. <br>And not many know this but AWS also has the same service as Github call AWS Code Commit which also uses Git.</p>

<p>I recently discovered it and the Trello board is really helpful while working on group projects or doing a code sprint or even tracking your own progress and goals.<br><br>One can keep track of the progress very easily on the Trello boards and I guess I like it because it resembles a digital post-it.</p>
<h3>8. Figma</h3>
<p>Okay, so if you are a designer you must obviously know about it. Anyways, so it is a place where designers make and post their designs, and I as a developer would see that and turn those designs into code.</p>
<p>I have been using it recently at work and this really helps maintain everyone’s workflow.</p>
<h3>Communication 📣</h3>
<h3>9. Slack</h3>
<p>I use it to communicate with people at work as most people use it and it’s very clean.</p>
<h3>10. Discord</h3>
<p>Discord is where you can join awesome communities and chill with other developers, ask your doubts and see a lot of people helping you out from their experience and it’s really great and has chill vibes.</p>
<p>So for work talks I recommend Slack and for hanging out with devs, I recommend Discord.</p>
<h3>Social 👨🏻‍🤝‍👨🏻</h3>
<h3>11. Twitter</h3>
<p>Twitter has the best tech community you could ever find and I learn a lot from the folks on my feed. So make sure you follow the right people.</p>

<p>Funny story — I joined LinkedIn to connect with folks working at SpaceX and Tesla. 😄</p>

<p>This is where I end up after a Google search every time. I even got banned from asking questions here because apparently, my question had no quality.</p>
<p>So, guess what did I do, I opened another account and now I ask a very elaborate question to not get it downvoted.</p>

<p>Everything that I mentioned here and most of the things I know is by googling.</p>
<p>I believe it is the single most important tool that one needs to use and it surprises me how many people don’t use it.</p>

<p>Hey there! so this a neat thing that I didn’t know and it’s really helpful so thought to just put it out here.</p>

<p>As you must know if you are in tech and have a resume, it needs to get updated at least every 2 months or so, according to your new skills set and or to add some new project.</p>
<p>I keep learning and building stuff so sometimes when I needed to update the resume I just kept uploading the latest one on Google Drive and either deleted the previous one or let it be. And this led to many confusions some time and also it’s not clean.</p>
<p><strong>The Solution</strong></p>
<p>So, I thought one day that there must be a solution for this and I googled it to find that Google Drive has a Version feature where one can just upload the updated version of the same file which replaces the old one and the old versions also remain there if sometime in future you want to do a — “My First Resume Review” Video after being a Unicorn Startup or a FAANG employee. 😄</p>

<p><strong>1. Imagine this is how your resume is in G-Drive :</strong></p>

<p>It will show you earlier versions that you had uploaded and you can just tap on the “Upload New Version” to upload the latest one !</p>

<h3>Made Gilfoyle’s Bitcoin App from the Silicon Valley Series</h3>

<p>I am a pretty big fan of the show called — Silicon Valley, which is based on the practical tech scenario in the real Silicon Valley in California where a group of guys build stuff and try launching their own company. And trust me it is really hilarious and if you are in the tech domain I would recommend watching it.</p>
<h3>Inspiration</h3>
<p>Recently, I also got interested in investing in crypto and bought some too. Thus I also wanted to create an app based on that and then a scene from this series struck me where Gilfoyle a character in the show has an app that creates a loud annoying noise every time the price of bitcoin goes down. (The scene: <a href="https://youtu.be/SRi0SZoGXkw">Jump to 0:08 sec</a> )</p>
<p>So, I thought why not try to make that also I could strengthen my API and States — React skills and also figure out how to produce sound in different situations from a WebApp. 🔊</p>

<p>So I started doing it, spent a lot of time on Google, Stackoverflow as always and so much so asking questions that my questions got downvoted and banned to ask more so had to create another account to ask better quality questions — Lesson Learnt. And trust me I googled a lot before asking those. Whatever let’s move on!</p>

<p>It continuously fetches the current price of Bitcoin in a frequency of 2 seconds and you can just wait for the price to drop to get that loud annoying sound of BTC price going down. And trust me it’s really annoying! 🔥🔊</p>

<h3>How I made my First Full Stack Web App ? 🚀</h3>

So I have always been fascinated by how a full-stack system works and how can many people use something that someone made. ✅</p>
<p>And recently a week or more ago these thoughts came back to me and I thought okay we have plenty of time now, thanks to Corona Virus. Let’s figure it out! 🧐</p>
<h4>Then as I say in <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DirCHSLoOcg&amp;t=176s">this video</a> of mine the best way to master or know something is to :</h4>
<ul>
<li>Have a vision of what you want to make that gets you excited.</li>
<li>Not care about what you know or not.</li>
<li>Open the editor, Google things, get into a bunch of errors and actually learn the right way.</li>
</ul>
<p>So, I knew that I had to create something where the user can just go and post stuff which makes it a full-fledged app. So after some googling, I found this type of application is called a CRUD app where :</p>
<ul>
<li>C — Create</li>
<li>R — Read</li>
<li>U — Update</li>
<li>D — Delete</li>
</ul>

<p>Now it’s time to figure out how to do it or which tech stack to use. So again as always I googled what should one use to create full-stack apps. And mainly these are some of the stacks that I found which are mainly used to create things full-stack systems :</p>
<ul>
<li>MERN (MongoDB , ExpressJS , React , NodeJS )</li>
<li>MEAN (MongoDB , ExpressJS , Angular , NodeJS )</li>
<li>LAMP (Linux , Apache , MySQL , React )</li>
</ul>
<p>So, as I already knew React so I decided to go with the MERN stack.</p>
<figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/900/0*bf6fF3HGwr88y8D2"></figure><p>Okay now as I didn’t know anything how the MERN architecture works so to get a good grasp of the flow I watched a tutorial which I always forbid but if you are completely new to something do watch one to get the idea of the workflow and not just code along with the teacher.</p>
<h3>What’s the Idea ? 📌</h3>
<p>Now it was time to get the idea to be implemented which just led me to procrastinate and do other stuff for some days.</p>
<p>One day I just thought let’s just start implementing the posting part and I will think of a particular theme in the process.</p>
<p>And exactly that is what happened, I decided to keep the app pretty simple where people can just come and post a card about any person in the world who inspired them and others could like and get to know more about the person when they click on them.</p>
<h3>Implementation 👨‍💻</h3>
<ul>
<li>I used <a href="https://www.mongodb.com/cloud/atlas">MongoDB</a> Atlas’s free tier cloud database which is the free one and it provides 512 MB of storage I guess.</li>
<li>The database is connected to the server which is written by using <a href="https://expressjs.com/">ExpressJS</a> .</li>
<li>The server creates and exposes API endpoints which is accessed by the frontend to POST and GET -data.</li>
<li>The frontend is written in <a href="https://reactjs.org/">React</a> , HTML , CSS . I also used <a href="https://react-redux.js.org/">React Redux</a> in it which made it really complex but learned a lot.</li>
</ul>
<p>Honestly, I hate CSS stuff but I used <a href="https://getbootstrap.com/">bootstrap </a>to make things easier and also managed to make it kind of responsive too which I am proud of. 😄</p>
<p>It took roughly 5–6 days from writing the first line of code to the last ( or last until now cause I keep changing things according to user feedback ).</p>
<h4>Deployed !</h4>
<p>Then I decided to deploy it and let everyone use it because that’s the best part of all this. So, I used Heroku for the first time to deploy the server and Netlify to deploy the frontend.</p>
<p>Later I also created <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGbJD31_IHg">this video</a> on how could you deploy your site in seconds using Netlify which is really convenient.</p>
<h3>The Product</h3>
